About Ebony For Ebony, beauty has always been about more than how you look when you leave the chair. It is about caring for yourself, understanding what your hair and body need, and feeling confident in who you are. Her journey in hair began more than 25 years ago, when she first started doing locs as a teenager. What began as a natural skill grew through decades of experience, relationships, and a genuine interest in helping people care for themselves. In 2025, Ebony became a licensed cosmetologist, bringing together years of hands-on experience with professional training and a broader vision for what she wanted to create. That vision is Be Earthy. Be Earthy is rooted in Ebony’s belief that beauty and wellness belong together. Healthy hair and loc maintenance remain at the heart of her work, but becoming a licensed cosmetologist and establishing a space of her own have allowed her to expand how she cares for her clients. Today, that includes hair treatments and styling, facials, manicures, and other personal-care services designed to make taking care of yourself part of the experience. But what makes Be Earthy different is not simply the number of services Ebony provides. It is how she provides them. Education has always been a natural part of sitting in Ebony’s chair. She wants clients to understand their hair and scalp, know how to care for them between appointments, and feel comfortable asking questions. And because relationships are important to her, the conversation often goes beyond hair. Her chair has become a place where clients can talk about confidence, relationships, life, and whatever else they may be carrying that day. That combination of care, education, beauty, and genuine connection is at the heart of the Be Earthy experience. The goal is not simply for clients to leave looking good. Ebony wants them to leave feeling cared for, more informed, and more confident than when they arrived. Today, Be Earthy also represents something deeply personal for Ebony: independence and a new beginning. With a space of her own and the freedom to shape the experience she wants to provide, she is building the business she has envisioned for years—one that reflects both the work she has spent decades learning and the way she believes people deserve to be cared for.
